But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. Course Duration at IAHS

The MBBS program at the Institute of Applied Health Sciences follows the curriculum and guidelines set by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC). The program is structured as follows:

  • Total Duration: 5 years of academic study followed by a 1-year mandatory internship.
  • Course Structure:
    • First Phase (1.5 years): Pre-clinical studies, focusing on subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry.
    • Second Phase (1 year): Paraclinical studies, including Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Forensic Medicine.
    • Third Phase (1 year): Focuses on Community Medicine and other related subjects.
    • Fourth Phase (1.5 years): Clinical studies with emphasis on Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and other specialties.
  • Internship (1 year): The internship is a compulsory part of the MBBS program, providing practical exposure in different departments under supervision. This experience is critical for developing clinical skills and readiness for independent medical practice.
